What are
Regional Zones?
Although most
content in the newspaper is published in all editions, some pages of the Boston
Globe are customized for a smaller geographic region, or zone. The Globe has
North, West, South and City zones.
Can I choose more than one zone?
You may choose up to 3 zones.
What results should I expect from my ad?
Results will vary based on a variety of factors including
frequency of ads, attractiveness of the offer, clarity of the message in the
ad, etc. Numerous studies have shown that advertising increases in
effectiveness with repeat exposure.
How do I upload my own picture, logo or QR code?
On the "Build Your Ad" page, there is an upload box at the
bottom of the page. Here you can upload and crop your own picture, logo or QR
(Quick Response) code. You can also
upload your own customized graphic if you select the appropriate template.
How can
I verify that my ad ran if I don't get the newspaper that day?
The Boston Globe
uses an electronic proofing system known as "e-sheets". As a Boston
Globe client you can sign up for an e-sheets login that allows you to search
for your ad and view it as it appeared on the actual page.
You access
e-sheets in the main navigation bar or on your account information page.
Or you can sign-up by:
1. Logging in to: http://ts.merlinone.com
2. Entering your Account Number followed
by the letters bgl Located at the top of your billing statement in the
box labeled “Billed A/C #”
3. Entering temporary password: welcome

What is the deadline for placing my Featured Homes ad?
In order to place your ad in the Sunday newspaper, the order must be
submitted by 4:30pm on the Thursday prior to that Sunday.
Will my Featured Homes ad run in color in the newspaper?
No, all Featured Homes ad run in black and white in the newspaper. The
photos remain in color on the screen but are converted prior to publication.
Photos will appear in color online on Boston.com.
What if I notice a mistake or need to make a change to an ad I
already submitted?
No problem. You can make changes to your ad at any point until the
deadline for that day,s publication. Simply login to your account, locate your
ad under the “Future Ads” section and “Modify” your ad. If you are paying by
credit card and the changes causes a change to the cost of your ad, you will be
credited/charged the correct amount.
Can I work on creating my ad and save it without submitting it?
Yes. You can build your ad, see how much it will cost, and then save it
before submitting. You will be prompted to create an account so that you can
login at a later time to finish it and pay. You can also save your ads in the shopping cart. When you are done creating ads, you may check
out and pay for all ads at once.
